Capturing an amazing moment with my little brother

March 3rd, 2014

Recently I went out to take some pictures with my little brother Trevor and his (now fiance) Brittany. We had planned on just hiking around some abandoned barns in Washougal and take some updated photos of them together since it had been a while since they had gotten professional photos done together.

We hiked around for a while and got some different photos here and there - but after a little while I could tell Trev was acting quite. Things got a little more suspicious when he started calling the shots. He asked me to get a photo with the barn in the background (wasn’t too terribly strange - just figured he wanted a photo with the barn. It just threw me a little bit since he usually just lets me call the shots),

He then started playing music through a little portable speaker he had brought with him. At this point I kinda knew something was up so I prepared for anything. Then without any warning to me; he went down on one knee and proposed to Brittany. I instantly jumped into documentary photographer mode and started snapping photos. It was awesome not only being there to experience the engagement of my little brother and his girlfriend, but being able to capture that moment on camera was something special indeed.

Engagement session in the mountains

October 28th, 2012

Right now I’m hanging out with the Jack Fall cast & crew listening to Suzanne Tufan and it’s making me more & more excited to get this film off the ground. We have so many talented people on this production… It really is an amazing thing to have people bringing their respective talents & passion together in the name of art.

Jack Fall Supporters Concert!

October 27th, 2012

We are rounding the corner on our final stretch of our Kickstarter campaign and we couldn’t be happier with the amount of support we’ve gotten so far! Ir truly has been an incredible experience! Tomorrow night we will be holding a Supporter’s Concert at the Brass Rail Tavern featuring music from Suzanne Tufan (you might remember her from one of the top competitors on American Idol). We will have cast & crew members there to talk & answer questions about Jack Fall. There’s no cover charge & you don’t have to be a donor to come join in on the fun!

"WHERE WOULD YOU MOST LIKE TO VISIT ON YOUR PLANET?"

- tumblrbot

Kenya or Antarctica would probably be the two tops… but I really do want to try and see as much of this planet as possible.

Next spring I will be embarking on an adventure to film “Jack Fall” the feature film being directed by Michael Devin Greenman. Michael has selected me to be the director of photography and I’m really excited to bring my style of shooting into this world. We will be shooting down in beautiful SE Oregon, primarily in the amazing little town of Lakeview.

Right now we’re working on raising funds through a crowd funding site called “Kickstarter.” You can check out our campaign at: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1397392301/jack-fall

Here’s some test footage we shot recently while conceptualizing the look of our film.

New Years Resolution

October 11th, 2010

Well I think I have found out what my new years resolution is going to be. With my birthday coming up later this week I’ve been thinking about it a lot. I tend to think of “new years” as each year of my birthday… It makes a lot more sense to me… it’s ’MY“ new year…(my 21st year on this planet, 22nd..ect..)

This year I think what I am going to focus on most is simply being there for close friends & family. I tend to be the type of person to have a million different projects going all at once. I tend to get so involved with these projects that I become extremely overwhelmed … but that doesn’t stop me… I just stack on project after project, constantly thinking to myself "If I cut out this aspect of my life I can fit in one more project.” Until I start cutting out the essentials… sleep, eating healthy, exercising and, above all, communications and relationships with my closest friends and family.

I never wanted to be that type of person. I LOVE being involved in my projects and the art scene. But I’ve realized that this last year I have been stacking so much on my plate that I start cutting out what I feel I can afford to cut out…. the people closest to me. Under the delusion that I can afford to cut them out because they know me… they’ll understand that I’m busy and have lots to work on. But I’ve realized that isn’t true… and sometimes I just NEED to be there for them - bottom line.

So that is what I plan on working on this year. Getting back to those basics. Sleeping more regular hours, eating healthier & regular meals, cutting out energy drinks to keep me awake long hours, and understanding that work is work and life is life and that I need to do a better job keeping those things separate.

And I honestly believe that if I focus on these things, I’ll see improvements in both aspects of my life. So there it is! Nate’s 2010 & 2011 New Years Resolution!
